The images of two of the kings seemed to me be the only failure - one (swords) looks as if he had just got out of the bath, and another (penatacles) appears to be wearing a ladies' nightdress.

Each card has a banner along the bottom, which includes the title of the card as well as astrological and elemental correspondences. So that divination on the Heaven and Earth Tarot does not confuse, you need to decide which system is more familiar and comfortable to work with. Instead, the contrast between the dark foregrounds and light-punctuated backgrounds help the deck to live up to its expressed purpose of "how the Earthly factors unite with the Heavens in the mundane world". Each card does show the symbols of its astrological and elemental correspondences, plus the Hebrew letter correspondence for the Majors, which could be a useful prompt for anyone who is learning those.
