About this deal

The build quality of the item itself is adequate, although the PCB board is very thin, (be careful when removing the item from the plastic packet housing it). The Corsair Force MP510 offers more value than its predecessor along with better endurance ratings than other consumer flash-based SSDs. These two scores represent the two extremes of how the drive would perform under real-world usage, where wear leveling and modifications to some existing data will create some internal fragmentation that degrades performance, but usually not to the extent shown here. We try to use free or easily available programs and some real world testing so you can compare our findings against your own system. In our read throughput test, the drive's performance at the 512KB block mark faltered but it soon recovered to finish the test at a peak of 2,244.

drive as the install was a piece of cake and when I put my OS on there the speeds that it loads it at is insane! It utilizes Toshiba’s 64L 3D TLC NAND flash and Phison’s latest (and highest performance) SSD controller, the PS5012-E12. Toshiba's 64-layer 3D TLC has reversed that situation and is giving Phison SSD vendors access to cutting-edge flash that is fast, cheap, and power efficient. This even beats by about 33%, the much more expensive Samsung 970 Pro which carries an already excellent 600TBW rating.Tom's Hardware is part of Future US Inc, an international media group and leading digital publisher. An updated interface would be welcome considering Corsair’s other software (like LINK and iCUle) is much sleeker looking.

More to the point it kicks sand in the face of Corsair's own 960GB MP300 (1,600MB/s reads 1,080MB/s) which is only around twenty quid cheaper. To get a measure of how much faster PCIe NVMe drives are than standard SATA SSDs we use the same files but transfer to and from a 512GB Toshiba OCZ RD400. Also included in this review are several entry-level NVMe drives, our results from testing an engineering sample of the upcoming Silicon Motion SM2262EN controller, and the Toshiba XG6 OEM SSD that will hopefully get a retail version soon. However when I try to install windows 10 off my usb installer, the SSD isnt listed and im asked to load a driver. To put it into perspective, the MP510’s endurance rating at over eight times higher than the Intel SSD 660p! R.T details and also supports firmware updates, secure wiping of the drive, drive optimisation and incorporates a disk cloning utility. Over the range, the best value drive is the 1920GB model, but the 960GB is very close and offers even better performance if a reduced TBW.

HIGH-DENSITY 3D TLC NAND Provides the ideal mix of performance, endurance and value to keep your drive performing at its best for years. A quick recap of our testing reveals several highlights where the 4TB Corsair MP510 really stands out in terms of performance. There isn’t any rocket science in the Corsair SSD Toolbox, but it does what’s required with the minimum of fuss. Its small size does not require any data or power cables, resulting in a cleaner, clutter-free setup. The 240GB storage capacity, although adequate for an operating system and essential applications, might be limiting for users with larger storage needs.

There are many ways to measure the IOPS performance of a Solid State Drive, so our results will sometimes differ from manufacturer’s quoted ratings. The rated TBW endurance figure for the 960GB MP510 is 1,700 TBW and Corsair back the drive with a 5-year warranty. PCMark 10 Storage Test is the most advanced and most accurate real-world consumer storage test ever made.Max random read falls a bit short of factory specs because they are given for an empty secondary device. We tried a wide range of software tools to support our finding, but we’ll concentrate on CrystalDiskMark 6. IOMeter is another open source synthetic benchmarking tool which is able to simulate the various loads placed on hard drive and solid state drive technology. Each queue depth is tested for up to one minute or 32GB transferred, from a drive containing 64GB of data.
