Your Stupidity astounds me, incompotent parents are the ones that never discipline their kids, and let them run wild and end up having 17 kids to different fathers, all living on welfare, and dropping out of highschool by age 14. If she spanked the girl hard enough for the grandmother to be concerned enough to take her to the hospital and bad enough for the hospital to report it, the punishment sounds justifiable. There are few sexier sights than a pretty girl with a very bright fire red and very, Very, VERY sore bare bottom. As long as its used sparingly, as a last resort, and the child is informed ahead of time that their actions will result in a spanking, then yes. IF ANYTHING when her daughter will grow up and learn of this incident she might actually understand the situation wrong, if there wouldn't have been some over sensitive grandmother to report the 2 year old wouldn't have even remembered later in life about this incident.You're not inflicting any lasting damage (little kids are absurdly resilient, just look at how many serious falls they take learning to walk, my niece took a headfirst dive off a front step onto the sidewalk, her mother was a heck of a lot more shaken up by it than she was, she cried for 5 minutes and was then, "Ok, done with that, now I want snacks"), and they were told flat out that it was coming and continued in their behavior anyway. There are endless discipline scenes and unbelievably the author manages to make them all yawn worthy and tedious. In every instance the child knew full well that what they were doing was going to get them a spanking.

Actually if you were that woman you'd go to jail, never see your kids again and the mother would have custody.
