Seriously, it wasn't until around 60% when the two finally kissed, and I couldn't complain about it. the MCs were both cute and i loved the bickering, HOWEVER, and this is really weird, i just wish Macon was a tiny bit more mean? With their history, she doesn't know if she can believe anything he's telling her if it's another ruse to lure her into his game and embarrass her at the most opportune moment.

I could relate to Delilah and the sense of feeling less than, both in comparison to her sister and in the eyes of others.the characters are american and the story is set in the states (i believe the author is american too? Bringing their own unique and counter-balanced personalities to proceedings they ask questions such as: what is happiness? For some reason, I just couldn't fully connect with the story or the characters and I even found myself skimming every now and then. There is some danger of it falling into the “he only does these things because he likes you,” but this is a discussion that is had in the book, and the way it’s subverted is done fairly well, even if the later execution of the relationsihp development did leave me feeling a little cold. Overall I really enjoyed this book alot and would love to read about the secondary characters as well.

I don't even mind it if it's not plot driven, but the romance is not doing the work, the drama is not doing it for me. The writing is fantastic, the relationship develops into something truly beautiful, and the slow burn was tortuously perfect, but the history these two share is where the problems lie. Imagine having three life-coaches who had been through the toughest mental and physical challenges; a crack team of problem-solvers who knew in their day job that one mistake could be the difference between life - and death. Maybe he is funny, I don't know, I didn't find anything he says particularly funny but who knows, maybe it's not my type of humour.Yet, against her better judgment, Delilah makes a deal with the devil that is Macon Saint, when her sister, who also happens to be Macon’s ex high-school girlfriend, skips town after stealing from him. and you know what, after reading a few books from the hangmen series, i really needed this lighthearted book. Someone has secrets, I imagine we'll find there were reasons why certain people behaved in certain ways and they will be forgiven for it, and oh hey, there was always this big connection between them, despite the fact that he dated her sister for other reasons, and blah blah.
