About this deal

Coconut Oil soap is to me, incredibly versatile. It is one of the few oils you can use on it's own to make soap (the other is olive oil).

There are so many things that it can be used for, but here are just a few of the uses for coconut oil which you may not have considered: 1. Coconut oil for cooking When taken by mouth: Coconut oil is commonly consumed in foods. But coconut oil contains a type of fat (saturated fat) that can increase cholesterol levels. Like all saturated fats, it should be consumed in moderation. Coconut oil is possibly safe when used as a medicine short-term. Taking coconut oil in doses of 10 mL two or three times daily for up to 12 weeks seems to be safe. Bach AC, Babayan VK. Medium-chain triglycerides: an update. Am J Clin Nutr 1982;36:950-62. Healthy skinIn June 2015, a Cochrane review found that, in some ways, saturated fats may be less harmful than previously believed. It did not suggest, however, that saturated fats were healthful, and the authors urged people to continue reducing their intake of saturated fat. There are high temperatures involved here and in this process, some nutrients are lost. 8 What is the difference between hydrogenated and non-hydrogenated coconut oil?

Kinsella, R., et al. (2017). Coconut oil has less satiating properties than medium chain triglyceride oil [Abstract]. Coconut oil is also a widely used health supplement which has been found to lower cholesterol, promote stable blood sugar levels (vital for diabetics) and decrease fatigue. Coconut oil has a wide range of reported health benefits, it is made up of mainly medium-chain triglycerides which may not carry the risks of other saturated fats. So, the increase in LDL (bad) cholesterol levels outshines the benefits. That’s why the AHA advises against using it for heart health ( 40).
