About this deal

So I am a massive Cathy Glass fan and have been for around ten years now; she's probably the Author that I own the most books by. Will You Love Me? is the story of Cathy’s adopted daughter, Lucy, who arrived as a foster child and stayed for good. This is the story of my adopted daughter, Lucy, who came to me as a foster child and stayed for good. By the time Lucy came to me, aged eleven, she was withdrawn, refusing to eat and had bouts of terrifying anger. It was thought that the damage done to her was irreversible and there was little I could do. urn:lcp:willyoulovemesto0000glas:epub:352d8bb8-1f59-4f97-8021-91c0edc353a6 Foldoutcount 0 Identifier willyoulovemesto0000glas Identifier-ark ark:/13960/t7xn1388q Invoice 1652 Isbn 9780007530915

Couldn't put the book down! I love Cathy Glass' work and this was no different. A really personal memoir and all the more touching as Lucy features in other books too."Frightened for her own safety, Tilly asks to go into foster care and is placed with Cathy. Tilly arrives with a graze on her cheek and Cathy becomes increasingly concerned by Dave’s behaviour, especially when she learns he has been showering Tilly with gifts. While she’s busy looking after Tilly and trying to keep her safe, Cathy is also worried about her own daughter, Lucy. She has a very difficult decision to make that will affect the rest of her life, and Cathy hopes she makes the right choice. As soon as I get a book by Cathy Glass I have to read it straight away… not only an author but a wonderful and very caring lady…" Her work is strongly identified with both the True Life Stories and Inspirational Memoirs genres, and she has also written a parenting guide to bringing up children, Happy Kids, and a novel, The Girl in the Mirror, based on a true story. Having read all of Cathy Glass' books, I had high expectations of this book, and they were fulfilled! I recommend this book to anybody."

Lucy was born to a single parent who had herself been abused and neglected for most of her childhood. Lucy’s mother couldn’t cope with a baby and Lucy was neglected right from the start. Despite concerns being raised by her teachers and other adults Lucy wasn’t taken into permanent foster care until she was eight years old. But even then her problems weren’t over. As she was moved from one foster home to another she became increasingly upset and angry.

I'm sure fans of Cathy Glass's work will love this book, which is based on her experiences of many years as a carer for "looked after children". I was obliged to read it for my work. Cathy has been a foster parent for many years, and a very patient understanding one. Her usual foster children have some very upsetting things to deal with and this was the case of this 14 year old teenager Tilly. She loves her mum and worries about her. A Terrible Secret: Scared for her safety, Tilly places

This story is about Tilly (14) and her growing up in a house with domestic abuse. There are things that come up, that in a fictional book, we might call plot twists. Tilly manages to get out of the situation, leaving her mother and stepfather to sort themselves out. Things are rarely straight forward, even when you’re thinking, ‘things couldn’t get any worse.’ Having read all of Cathy Glass’ books, I had high expectations of this book, and they were fulfilled! I recommend this book to anybody. I struggle reviewing books like this because they are stories about people's lives. They're real, and they're unpleasant, and I feel a little bad about reading about people's unhappiness. However, I do really enjoy these books, and I feel that Cathy Glass does a very good job in making people aware of what awful things go on behind closed doors. I have dabbled in fostering, and it's hard and heartbreaking to witness what people do to children. Lucy’s story could have a happy ending but it could so easily have been different. Policy and priorities need to change so that every child has a permanent family of their own as soon as possible. I am very proud of all of my children not only for what they have achieved but also for the people they have become. As well as looking after Tilly and keeping her safe Cathy is worried about her own daughter, Lucy, who has confided she is pregnant. She’s asked that no one else knows until she has decided what to do. Cathy hopes and prays she makes the right decision as it will affect the rest of her life. As usual this is a very engaging read which gives insight into the range of responsibilities that are part of being a foster parent. Not only is Cathy caring for the child she also takes on a key role in the broader dynamics of the family. A well written story, Cathy writes in such a way it draws you in from the start. A moving story of a young girl (Tilly) with a bit of a twist…" I have three children, two birth children and one adopted child. When I left school I held a clerical position in the civil service, which I left to start a family. At the same time I became a foster carer, the inspiration for much of my writing. I have been a foster carer for over 25 years. I have a degree in education and psychology which I was awarded as a mature student. My true-life stories show the suffering and courage of some of the most vulnerable children in our society and have world-wide appeal. My books are also used by trainers and practitioners, working in childcare and child protection.
