The 2.4GHz connection is completely stable in our wireless-saturated downtown office environment in NYC. At home, the keyboard also had no problems connecting with a PC on the other side of our house as we played games from a couch. If you’re planning on purchasing a lapboard, you’ve probably also considered a gaming lap desk. Lap desks are another suitable option for users who want to avoid using a traditional desk for their PC or gaming console. Overall, Corsair is on point with this pairing. The K63 itself is a great mechanical keyboard in its own right; Cherry MX Red switches, decent battery life, dedicated media keys, and a fast wireless response rate make it stand out. But when you pair it with the expertly designed, well-built lapboard, you get the best solution for PC gaming on a coach or home theater without resorting to a gamepad, if you're willing to shell out the dough.
Surface area is one of the most essential components of any gaming lapboard. You need enough space to comfortably fit your keyboard and mouse. It’s also essential to have enough space to provide your mouse with full range — you don’t want to lose any functionality.The Sova is generally an easy-to-use lapboard, but it is a big piece of plastic that will be sitting around in your living room. Because you can replace the wrist rest and mousepad, you’ll never have to worry about wear-and-tear impacting the viability of the Roccat Sova. You’ll benefit from four USB 3.0 inputs that allow you to control your keyboard, mouse, and gaming headphones. It’s an excellent choice for Xbox One users. Gamers benefit from up to 32 feet of range without any lag increases. One reviewer wrote: “I do everything from my couch, health issues have forced me to, and over the years I have used no less than 5 different lapboard/keyboard/wireless mouse combinations, and this new Turret is now my favorite of them all.” Unlike testing a regular gaming keyboard, there are a lot of unique factors that go into judging a good lapboard. The extra space created by the mousepad being taller than the keyboard was put above the keyboard instead of below it, which looks pretty, but ends up just being wasted space. Instead of being on a pad, my hand in the WASD position was resting on the slightly sharp metal edge of the Lapdog tray. It’s honestly surprising to me that anyone could have tried playing an FPS with their hand in that position and not seen it as a problem. Ironically, I actually had to take off the K65’s removable wrist rest to fit it into the Lapdog.
