Transparently, I was very skeptical of this book because I really did not like the first book in this series, Promises and Pomegranates, at all. The reason why I read this book anyway was because of the 1) fake relationship trope and 2) Sav R Miller's writing is literally so good that I'm constantly in awe of it. I have genuinely not enjoyed writing the way I have enjoyed hers in a very long time. Ma adesso era cresciuta e non aveva tempo per pensare a lui. It’s definitely a slow burn (well as close as a slow burn Miller will get) so most of the smut was toward the end. Second chance + boy-obsessed heroes are one of my favorite tropes in Romance, and this book delivered both! Lenny wants to get out from under her fathers thumb, Jonas wants to destroy Lenny’s father for his part in his own fathers death. Enter: fake relationship to piss everyone off. Except, it doesn’t end up being so fake, does it?

After the downfall of the first installment, I didn't think I'd love Aiden and Riley's story but I did anyway. I love their dynamic and how perfectly fit they are for one another. Uuuggh, while I loved this, I really really wanted more from Jonas and Lenny. I really loved the two of them together, and separately. Jonas is perfectly cold and murderous, and Lenny is fierce and feisty. I also wouldn't call this a DARK romance. The little stalking could be considered dark-ish, but the rest felt like a typical spicy contemporary novel. I didn't mind, but it's good to know for setting your expectations straight.Probably my favourite couple in the series ever! I love Jonas and Lenny but then the execution of this book doesn't give them justice. Forgotten the title or the author of a book? Our BookSleuth is specially designed for you. I think dark romances with stalkers may be a new favorite trope of mine to read... and I'm not sure what that says about me, but let's move on.
