About this deal

These tyre levers get badged up by a number of brands, but they are the same model. They're pretty much what you might think of as ‘normal’ tyre levers , although there are others with a similar looking profile that do have slightly different ergonomics and shapings which aren't as effective. an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product He was heavily involved in the mountain bike boom of the late 1980s as a racer, team manager and race promoter, and that led to writing for Mountain Biking UK magazine shortly after its inception. He got the gig by phoning up the editor and telling him the magazine was rubbish and he could do better. Rather than telling him to get lost, MBUK editor Tym Manley called John’s bluff and the rest is history. Pedros Tyre Levers (Pair) | Wiggle

Made of 'high strength matrix polymer and engineering grade reinforced plastic', Topeak Shuttle Levers feel stiff in the hand and up for a proper wrestle with a recalcitrant tyre bead. The tips of both levers are finely pointed, with a nice curvature perfect for getting between a tight-fitting bead and rim. John has been writing about bikes and cycling for over 30 years since discovering that people were mug enough to pay him for it rather than expecting him to do an honest day's work. With all the tyres and wheelsets we have in on test, we’ve used these levers on a huge variety of hooked, hookless rims with clincher and tubeless tyres. Tyres are of course designed to fit tightly with the rims they're meant to work with... the trouble is that the bike industry has so far been unable to definitively make tyres or rims to a dimensional standard and tolerance so that every 25mm, 700c tyre will fit a 19mm wide, 700c rim in a uniform way, to give one example. I don't have hookless rims so can't verify this but I suspect you're right. Will still work very well as a conventional leaver but the clip will have nothing to clip onto off the rim doesn't have a hook.

Still going very strong, never let me down, slightly flexible, and with a little lip on the "other" end that gets that last little bit of the bead onto the rim.

Pedros Tyre Lever Pair | Merlin Cycles

I concur GP4000 is the hardest I've ever had to mount on a rim, Ultegra wheelset in my case. Shifted the outer skin on my thumbs! Brilliant Bikes Ltd, 13-14 Broomhall Buildings Chobham Road Sunningdale Berkshire United Kingdom SL5 0DU The unique feature here is a clip in the lever body to hold in place the section of tyre that you've already lifted over the rim wall. The idea is that keeps the tyre in place while you lever the last section into position. Due to the high strength full-metal blade, Tire Levers Premio are 25-30% narrower than other lever designs, making them ideal for very tight tyres and tubeless setups where access to the tyre bead is very tight.Although first and foremost a tyre manufacturer, it does make sense that Schwalbe would also have a keen interest in tyre levers too. They let you grip the tyre and manipulate it with one hand whilst jamming in tyre levers with the other. Unfortunately that pair comes with the Vittoria air-liner insert and don't seem to be available separately. (They're not really sized to carry with you on a ride though) I've never ever owned plastic tyre levers that haven't snapped. For this reason alone I would never buy them. LifeLine is Wiggle’s in-house component and accessories brand and usually it offers products with an excellent balance of performance and price. With these levers, though, that balance has tipped a little too far in favour of price, to the detriment of their performance.

But fitting them.......They should have fitting these with hands as part of the Worlds Strongest Man Contest. Buster Raid Pretty robust - Used them for years. I have broken one in the past but most other tyre levers would have given up way before the Pedro's did. As such, plastic is our go-to choice, however there are still some pitfalls to be aware of with these sort of levers. Most fundamental is their rigidity and strength – we’ve snapped plenty of cheap tyre levers on stubborn tubeless tyres over the years, while overly flexy ones can just bend rather than popping the tyre bead over the rim. I found you need a short luggage strap to get them on - it holds the tyre in place until you get most of it on. This comment needs a lot more likes. I have them on my commuter and is one of the few adverts I have seen where they get a variety of people including a child riding over a sea of broken glass.Edit: found that they are sold separately though they're still expensive for what they are: https://www.highonbikes.com/products/vittoria-air-liner-tubeless-tyre-fitting-tool Not that they are available anymore, but I love my mid 90s Pedros Milk Levers, made from recycled plastic milk bottles.
