About this deal

If you're new to this hobby, you may wonder about the best way to buy your fish. While visiting a local fish store is a popular choice, there's another option... Within minutes of your application being approved, you will be presented with the options to either e-sign or print and return your finance agreement. Type of Vac. There are two main types: hand-pumped and motorised. Hand-pumped pond vacuums are great for removing silt and debris from very small ponds, and they are much cheaper than motorised alternatives. Motorised pond vacuums, on the other hand, use electrical power to pump dirty water and debris. They are expensive, but much more effective at removing silt, debris and sludge. For most ponds, a motorised vac is required – but you may want to consider a hand-pump for small jobs. Deeper ponds require a motorised vac. The PondHero is powered by a 1400W motor. This provides plenty of power, while the vacuum has an automatic emptying system when full. The suction hose is four metres and, combined with the powerful motor, allows the vacuum to clean down to depths of 2 metres. Like the Oase Pondomatic, we wish it had a longer discharge hose though. Maximum Suction Depth. There are three factors affecting the “cleaning radius” of a pond vac: cord length, hose length and maximum suction depth. The maximum depth is not the same as the hose length, so make sure the vacuum is capable of cleaning the bottom of your pond. If you want the vacuum to dump the cleaned material far away from the pond, the length of the discharge hose is also important.

For retaining coarse particles > 1 mm at the outlet of the cleaned water – not suitable for pond sludge Make sure cables are where people are less liable to trip over them, which should also protect the cabling from damage. When preparing your pond for winter one of the best things you can do is to clean it before the temperatures drop significantly. The pond is at risk of freezing over and trapping unpleasant toxins in the water, suffocating the fish over time. It is a good idea to use a pond vacuum to remove this waste along with some water which can be replaced by fresh water if necessary. How do I clean my pond for winter? Maximum suction depth of 2.4 m thanks to high-performance 1,700 W motor with optimised blade geometry Remove motor housing (G, 17) Start the switching cycle manually by holding the motor over your head. It’s got a 1700 Watt, two-chamber system to ensure that you get maximum suction power. It has a 2.4M suction depth so it’s suitable for large and small ponds. Its hand regulator and transparent tubing mean it’s easily adjustable and easy to use in general. Installations must meet the national regulations and may only be carried out by a qualified electrictian. The Oase Pondovac 4 is a great piece of equipment to have to remove water and waste from your pond. The latest addition to the Oase Pondovac range, it has 20% more power than the Pondovac 3 and provides a stress-free way of removing sludge, waste, debris and rotting vegetation. The attached wheels allow you to easily maneuver the pump around your garden. Who should buy this model instead of the PondoVac though? If you’re not sure whether the more expensive model is worth the money, we recommend choosing it for bigger ponds. The double-chamber system and more powerful motor mean it can clean large amounts of sludge and debris faster. With that said, the cheaper Pondomatic can still do the job – it just takes a bit longer.

The PondoVac works very well and impressed. It empties well without any worries and the waste water goes on the garden. The PondoVac Classic is suitable for effective sludge removal by means of a powerful 1400 W motor. It contains fully automatic activation and emptying by intelligent motor electronics. The PondoVac Classic impresses with its compact design with a 27 l tank and powerful suction up to a depth of 1.5 m. The scope of delivery includes 4 different suction nozzles: crevice nozzle, algae nozzle, flat nozzle with rubber lip and variable universal nozzle (2 – 10 mm), including 4 m suction and 2 m drain hose. This is why cleaning is necessary. Pond pumps (a must-have) generally take care of most of this and are especially helpful in reducing the toxicity of the water by filtering waste and debris. This is a common feature of any pond, but it’s not quite enough. This is where a pond vacuum comes in. The Oase Pondovac 4 also comes with a number of parts to make cleaning your pond even easier. A see-through attachment allows you to see what is being removed from the pond and a selection of tools can be added to the end of the attachments to offer effective cleaning. How to clean your Pondovac 4Hosepipe, or temporary use bans often accompany UK heatwaves, but what does this mean for building or maintaining our ponds? Included in the scope of delivery: Four robust aluminium tubes, special string algae nozzle, broadened universal nozzle, area nozzle, wet suction brush, brush nozzle, debris collection bag, 5 m long suction hose and 2.5 long discharge hose. Kärcher is a reliable brand across Europe and is well known for its efficient, high-level cleaning systems. They offer a range of cleaners for a range of uses but are unthought of when it comes to pond vacuums. However, this 1000 Watt motor means you have a similar amount of power to other pond vacuums, so the suction strength is similar and should therefore collect the debris from your pond efficiently. It also has a 12L storage capacity, so you can collect plenty of debris before worrying about it overloading.

Maximum suction depth of 2.4 m thanks to high performance 1,700 W motor with optimised blade geometryAn issue we have with the Pondomatic is the short two metre discharge hose. This limits where you can discharge, so unless you’re aiming for a nearby flower bed you’ll probably need to transport it manually. Specification: Energy use: 1400 w, Container capacity: 25 l, Cleaning hose length: 4 m, Power Cable Length: 4 m Ideal for returning cleaned water when suctioning larger particles > 1 mm – not suitable for pond silt. Recommendation Aside from how easy it is to use, we like that the AquaVac doesn’t require fitting a hose pipe or any electricity. It’s reasonably effective at cleaning up sludge and smaller debris, so it can greatly speed up the process of cleaning a small pond.
